SWEETGRASS CANNABIS LAUNCHES
Sweetgrass Cannabis officially steps into the craft cannabis space with the launch of our website and social media streams.
Though Sweetgrass Cannabis has been up and running since May 2020 we have held off on making any noise about what we’re up to until now. From the time we got our license from Health Canada under the ACMPR (Access to Cannabis for Medical Purposes Regulations) we have been concentrating our efforts on setting up our HQ, assembling our team, refining our cultivation/processing systems and getting all of our myriad business affairs in order. This has been no small feat as everyone, the government included, has been reorienting and adapting to this entirely new sector of the Canadian economy. It’s been at least a couple of years in the making and a lot of hard work but we can finally make the announcement that we are here and ready to grow.
The first Sweetgrass crop was harvested in July and we’ve since been building up our inventory of high grade organic cannabis flower in preparation for an immanent licensing and distribution agreement with the BC Liquor Distribution Board (BCLDB). We have applied for a general sales license for both recreational and medical cannabis and should be receiving it in the Spring of 2021. Having this agreement in place will allow us to supply government and private dispensaries across BC with our flower. In addition to preparing for recreational sales, we are also busy working on our direct medical sales platform. This online service will enable medical cannabis clients who hold a valid prescription/license to buy directly from us. We anticipate having our online store set up and operational by Summer 2021. In the meantime, we invite you to subscribe to our newsletter or to check back in with us in 6 months for more information on how to register as a client.
There’s much more that could be said about our efforts in entering the craft cannabis market but we’ll leave things here with a quick mention that our second indoor micro-cultivation and processing facility is under construction and will be licensed and in operation by early 2021. Expect a new set of cultivars to be added to our roster in the coming months.
